Oh my God, it´s so hot here!!!!!
I´m pretty bored to be honest, can´t wait til the others arrive!
Looking forward to the induction too, finally get to meet all the people from Facebook in person!
There´s only two of us here at the moment and she´s living with a teacher until she finds a flat so I´m still pretty much on my own!!
Also, I might as well know no Spanish whatsoever....the accent is so strong, they speak really fast and mumble...so all in all, I have no idea what´s going on most of the time. Still, I´m managing and no doubt it´ll all fall into place one day soon!!

The other thing is that there are NO English people here, apart from the guy on the next PC to me...although I´ve been listening in on his Skype conversation and have come to the conclusion that he is only passing through!

He keeps saying things like 'Brillers' and 'Facey B' anyway!!

It's all coming together

So, I have a flat, roomates, contact with schools and people to meet up with once I'm there. As my predecesor pointed out earlier, I am "super organised".

Potential Lodgings

So I just got an email from an American girl called Celine. She has found a flat in the centre of town and has asked me to live with her!!! Things are coming together!!! x

Contact established!!

I finally received an email from my schools! I will be teaching(besides English) P.E, Biology, Maths and Art....erm yeah, alright haahah. I don't know if I'll actually be teaching those subject or just helping out in the classes because for some reason they are all taught in English....weird! x

26 Days and Counting!

Flights booked...shall be arriving in Madrid on the 21st of September, then driving to Plasencia with my Dad to find somewhere to live! I was more than happy to go on my own but at least this way I can take more stuff and my Dad will pay for accommodation until I find a place to live!

Okay, it's drawing ever closer...should really think about actually booking that flight!! I think I'll leave at some point between the 20th and 25th of September...probably the earliest possible as I need to find somewhere to live by the 29th....before I go t Caceres. Hopefully I'll get lucky and find someone just like me on the street, someone who is desperate for a British housemate and loves mashed potato!!!

Actual Information!

We've finally been sent an info pack about the move...including contact details of previous LA's in the area I'm moving to! So I wasted no time in emailing them to find out as much as possible about my schools. I'm grateful for all of this information but until I actually get there, it's pretty useless.....just something to agonise over every other day! Still had no direct contact with the schools but I now know I'm due to start on the 1st of October 2009!

House Hunting in Plasencia!

Such a productive Sunday...after getting super excited about a flatshare I found with a 20year old student for 150euros a month I realised it was in totally the wrong town...empezar desde cero!!!

I have no idea where to live or who to live with. One thing I do know is that I'm going to apply for my maintenance loan and there is nothing Pete B can do about it!

No reply yet! Wahhhhhhhh!

Just sent emails to my two schools, hopefully hear back from them soon. I'll feel so much better about everything when I actually have some sort of idea of what to expect!!Or what's expected from me!

So, so confused.

As much as I'm loving no longer having Swine Flu...I wish I was spending my time doing something more fun that attempting to decipher rather complex Spanish application forms! However, despite my extremely low level of Spanish...I've been doing some internet snooping aound my schools and I'm really looking forward to going!! I just hope they don't expect too much from me....because it will send me running in the opposite dirrection!
